CANADA’S EXPRESS ENTRY PROGRAM – HOW DOES IT WORK FOR ME?
Canada’s immigration program has changed. Keeping up with the times, Canada has introduced the Express Entry Program. This completely electronic program involves the federal government, all the provincial governments and Canadian employers acting in conjunction to create and maintain opportunities for immigrant candidates to become eligible to immigrate to Canada.
IMMIGRATE TO CANADA – CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible to come and pass through Canada; study or work in Canada or live permanently in Canada, you may be asked some questions, by government immigration officers, such as the following:
- Your Nationality
- Your Age
- Language Comprehension
- Members in the Family
- Your Education Level
- Your Work Experience
- Your Income and/or Net Worth
- Details on any Job offer
Based on the answers you supply; a candidate may be eligible to apply for qualified programs that the immigrant candidate and their family could be eligible. For this reason, it is imperative to answer every question as completely and accurately as possible.
By completing a Canada Visa Assessment Form, a candidate will be able to determine whether or not they are eligible to enter the Express Entry pool.
If, as an immigrant candidate, you are a skilled worker, you can apply to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry System, where the federal and provincial governments work in conjunction with Canadian employers to assist potential new immigrant candidates to apply to be put into an Express Entry pool.
Candidates will wait in the Express Entry pool until there are career openings sponsored by Canadian employers. Once there are appropriate openings for careers; immigrants, as potential employees, are elevated in the immigration process.
The Express Entry Program is not the IMMIGRATION PROCESS, but it is a process used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to choose potential candidates to immigrate to Canada.
Canadian employers looking for Skilled Workers can use this system as well to apply to hire skilled foreign workers. Skilled Workers can use the system to propose interest in immigrating Canada.
Canada’s Express Entry Program is used by Canadian Immigration to aid in the choosing of eligible immigrant candidates according to their score in the pool of eligible immigrant workers.
WHAT DOES EXPRESS ENTRY DO FOR MY CANDIDACY?
- Helps to get a candidate into Canada faster
- Links eligible candidates with eligible employers
- Eliminates the need for certain paperwork
HOW DOES EXPRESS ENTRY WORK?
With the use of a completely electronic process, Express Entry applicants are assessed and awarded a score, based on their skills, age, education, language ability, work experience and other factors. This score will be used by the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is a point-based system used to determine candidate immigration eligibility.
Applications for Express Entry must be declared through the Express Entry Profile System on the Citizen and Immigration Canada (CIC) online portal. Candidates having a Canadian job offer will qualify for more points, thereby increasing the chance of receiving an invitation to apply. If a candidate does not already have a Canadian job offer or a Provincial Nomination, the candidate is required to create a Job Bank profile after the creation of an Express Entry profile.
